In-depth interviews for better organizational culture at Pulmuone

Since the employee satisfaction survey in 2022, Pulmuone has been conducting in-depth interviews annually with selected targets. The reason for conducting in-depth interviews is to move away from quantitative surveys that end with fragmentary research, engage in deeper conversations with employees, and seek solutions to create a better organizational culture at Pulmuone. In 2023, the Brand Management Office was targeted, and in 2024, in-depth interviews were conducted with approximately 140 people from the      team.

Key Improvement Points & Tasks performances in 2023

The main improvement points suggested by the executives and employees are inefficiency in work processes due to unclear R&R between departments and teams in performing work, cases of work delays due to system performance issues, and a sense of deprivation due to relatively low treatment. Accordingly, the tasks of reorganizing the organization according to each issue, reviewing the transfer of functional work across the company, reviewing improvement of the monthly design fee settlement process, providing opportunities for system improvement requests and market research, and improving compensation and recognition were derived. Through these in-depth interviews, Pulmuone intends to demonstrate its will to improve the company's organizational culture to its executives and employees by implementing improvement tasks starting from feasible areas.

Key Improvement Points & Tasks performances in 2024

The main improvement points suggested by employees included key areas requiring improvement in 2024 : ① Organization and work (budget support, growth support for junior employees, job rotation, etc.), ② Work Space (securing parking space, improving office space, etc.), ③ Technical environment (system complexity and speed, electronic approval, etc.), and ④ Cultural environment (simplifying reporting, creating an atmosphere that encourages challenging attempts, etc.). We selected the 2024 improvement tasks as the ‘Four Establishing' and focused on laying the foundation for employees to work sustainably and feel happiness within the organization from four perspectives: organization and work, space, systems, and culture. Since there were similarities with agenda items from regular labor-management council meetings, priority tasks to be resolved were selected and partially completed, while remaining tasks are currently in progress.

Future Plans for Better Organizational Culture at Pulmuone

In 2025, we are conducting an 'HR-related situation assessment' focusing on human resource management, which is responsible for employees' organizational culture and overall welfare.

In 2027, when the derivation of improvement tasks through in-depth interviews is completed, we plan to conduct an employee satisfaction survey targeting all employees company-wide. The employee satisfaction survey examines job satisfaction and motivation of employees, goals they aim to achieve through work, working hours, sense of belonging and happiness felt within the company and organization, and the level of stress experienced during working hours. Based on the derived results, in-depth interviews will be conducted to identify improvement tasks again, and we plan to fundamentally change our work methods through these improvement tasks and check whether they are being continuously implemented.
