Nutrition Profiling System

Pulmuone's nutrition profiling system is based on the World Health Organization(WHO), Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans(KDRIs), Dietary Guidelines for Americans, national nutrition policy and clinical research. To improve the health and nutrition of the product, we reduce excessive intake of ‘sodium, sugars, saturated fats’ and provide Nutrition Balance products and diets that complement vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals.

Pulmuone’s Nutrition Standards

Pulmuone’s Nutrition Standards serve as the standards for developing products that are nutritionally balanced.

Pulmuone provides allowed amount of sodium, sugars, and saturated fat to be contained in products reflecting the reference amount per serving for each product group to prevent high consumption of sodium, sugars, and saturated fat, which have been highlighted as a potential threat to nutrition balance. This is a quantitative goal to reduce the level of intake of 'sodium, sugars and saturated fats'. Pulmuone’s R&D body for health & nutrition called the Health & Nutrition Research Team monitors products’ nutritional content; establishes and modifies the nutrition standards considering the dietary environment, and national nutrition policies; and manages compliance.

Nutrition Balance Food Exchange Table

Nutrition Balance Food Exchange Table is a meal planning tool Pulmuone developed to provide assistance in practicing the sustainable lifestyle.

Food products are first categorized according to the source of carbohydrate, protein, and fat, the main nutrients that provide energy. Then, they classified into 12 food groups considering the key nutrients of Nutrition Balance and Low GL diet sugars, dietary fiber, and saturated fat. Also, the table shows one exchange unit per food group so that each group’s core nutrients (calories, carbohydrate, protein, fat such as saturated fat, dietary fiber, and sugars) are similar. Within the same food group, foods of one exchange unit contain a similar amount of nutrition, so they can replace each other. This allows a wide variety of menu when planning meals.

Pulmuone's Nutrition Balance Food Pattern

Pulmuone’s Nutrition Balance Food Pattern is a model(framework) to plan daily meals utilizing the Nutrition Balance Food Exchange Table. It proposes unit number per food group needed to realize diet according to target calories, proving to be useful in setting and evaluating diet plans. The number of units consumed in the food group containing 'food fiber, vitamins, minerals' is high, and the number of units consumed in the food group containing ‘sugars, saturated fats' is low. This is nutrient ingredients that help health, such as 'diet fiber, vitamins and minerals', are a quantitative goal of a strengthened diet. In addition to planning for a day’s meals with 1,800kcal for an ordinary adult, Pulmuone has developed Food Pattern per lifecycle to help people establish meal plans tailored to their age groups.
